What a Privnote server can still see
Even with end-to-end encryption, any web service observes connection metadata: IP address, approximate time, user agent and note identifier. That is enough to place a device at the moment a Privnote was created or read.
Who else sees your Privnote usage
Your own environment often leaks more than the service does.
- Corporate proxies and DNS logs recording the Privnote domain
- Browser history and autofill on a shared device
- The recipient, who can screenshot the note before it self-destructs
Making Privnote use more private
Open Privnote in a private window, avoid work networks for personal secrets, and never include names or context inside the note itself. A note that is meaningless without context stays safe even if the metadata is not.
